Preterist Verses In the New Testament

Matthew 2:2  Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him. (Num. 24:17; Luke 2:9)

Matthew 2:9  When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was. (“The star ... went before them”  From this it appears that the star was a luminous meteor, perhaps at no great distance from the ground. I believe this star was His sign that His disciples asked of in Matt 24:3 and He mentions in Matt 24: 30. Josephus mentions a “star in the shape of a sword” that hovered over Jerusalem for one year prior to A.D. 70.)

Matthew 3:1  In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea, 2 And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. (New Jerusalem was at hand. Dan. 7:13,14; 1 Kings 2:4; 8:25; Jer. 33:17; Galatians 4:26; Hebrews 11:16; Rev 21, 22)

Matthew 3:7  But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come? (1 Thess. 1:10; 2 Thess. 1:8,9.)

Matthew 3:10  And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

Matthew 3:12  Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.

(Queen of Sheba, 1 Kings 10:1.  Sheba was probably a city of Arabia, situated to the south of Judea. Isa. 60:6.)

Matthew 13:41  The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; 42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

Matthew 13:49  So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just, 50  And shall cast them into the furnace of fire*: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. (*Lake of Fire)

Matthew 16:27  For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works. 28  Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.

Matthew 23:34   Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city: 35  That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar. 36  Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation. Matthew 23:37  O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not! 38  Behold, your house is left unto you desolate. (Matt. 24; Rom. 11:25-32.) 39  For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.

Matthew 24:2  And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. (There shall not be left here one stone upon another At the time this was spoken, no event was more improbable than this.  The temple was vast, rich, splendid.  It was the pride of the nation, and the nation was at peace.  Yet, in the short space of 40 years, all this was accomplished exactly.  Jerusalem was taken by the Roman armies, under the command of Titus, 70 A.D.  The account of the siege and destruction of the city is left us by Josephus, a historian of undoubted veracity and singular fidelity.  He was a Jewish priest.  In the wars of which he gives an account, he fell into the hands of the Romans, and remained with them during the siege and destruction of the city.  Being a Jew, he would of course say nothing designed to confirm the prophecies of Jesus Christ; yet his whole history appears almost like a running commentary on these predictions respecting the destruction of the temple.  The following particulars are given on his authority:

    After the city was taken, Josephus says that Titus "gave orders that they should now "demolish the whole city and temple," except three towers, which he reserved standing.  But for the rest of the wall, it was laid so completely even with the ground by those who "dug it up from the foundation," that there was nothing left to make those believe who came hither that it had ever been inhabited."  Maimonides, a Jewish writer, has also recorded that "Terentius Rufus, an officer in the army of Titus, with a plowshare tore up the foundations of the temple, that the prophecy might be fulfilled, `Zion shall be plowed as a field,'" Mic. 3:12.  This was all done by the direction of divine Providence.  Titus was desirous of preserving the temple, and frequently sent Josephus to the Jews to induce them to surrender and save the temple and city.  But the prediction of the Saviour had gone forth, and, notwithstanding the wish of the Roman general, the temple was to be destroyed.  The Jews themselves first set fire to the porticoes of the temple.  One of the Roman soldiers, without any command, threw a burning firebrand into the golden window, and soon the temple was in flames.  Titus gave orders to extinguish the fire, but, amid the tumult, none of the orders were obeyed.  The soldiers pressed to the temple, and neither fear nor entreaties, nor stripes could restrain them.  Their hatred of the Jews urged them on to the work of destruction, and thus, says Josephus, the temple was burned against the will of Caesar. -- Jewish Wars, b. 6 chapter 4, section 5-7.)

Matthew 24:3  And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming*, and of the end of the world? (see Matt 2:2, 9; 24:34; Luke 21:7; *His disciples equated the destruction of the temple with His return, His “Second Coming”, in judgment of the twelve tribes of Israel- Matt 19:28)

Matthew 24:13  But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. Those who endured the 3 ½ year tribulation period, especially in Jerusalem, would be saved, not only from their sins, but from the wrath of God that was coming upon the city and the temple. See v. 21)

Matthew 24:14  And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.  (Rom. 1:8, 15:24-28; Gal. 1:17; Col. 1:6,23; Rev. 15:19; The Gospel was preached in all the world.)

Matthew 24:15  When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) (“The abomination of desolation”- I say the abomination of desolation is the image of the beast from the sea, Nero, that was brought to life [Revelation 13:13] and the “man of sin” and “son of perdition” Paul mentions in 2 Thessalonians 2:3;  See also John 17:12)

Matthew 24:16  Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: 17  Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house: 18  Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes. 19  And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! 20  But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: 21  For then shall be great tribulation*, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22  And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened. 23  Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. 24  For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. (The appearance of “the abomination that causes desolation [of the temple] sparks the beginning of the 3 ½ year tribulation period. The Jews erected an image of Nero in the temple because Nero was persecuting the Christians in Rome.  Paul was killed during Nero’s reign. The Jews probably convinced Nero that the Christians started the fire in Rome.  So Nero then had the Christians killed.  The Jews made an image of Nero in their temple in honor of him because he was killing the Christians and had killed Paul- something the Jews were unable to accomplish.  After Nero died of a wound by a sword, his image came to life in the temple. See Rev 13:1-18, 17:8.)

Matthew 24:30  And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. (I believe the sign is His star.  The one mentioned in Matthew 2.  Josephus mentions a star that looked like a sword that hovered over Jerusalem while all this was taking place.) Matthew 24:31  And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. (Luke 7:24; 9:52;  Ps. 104:4; Heb. 1:14; Lev. 25:9; Num. 10:2; Judg. 3:27; 1 Thess. 4:16; 1 Cor. 15:52; Revelation 11:15; Matt. 24:22.  The word “elect” means Christians -- the chosen of God. Matt. 13:39,41-43. Compare:  I Cor. 15:51-58; 1 Thess. 4:13-18;  Rev. 10:7,  11: 15)

Matthew 24:33  So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.

Matthew 24:34  Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

Matthew 24:35  Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. (Revelation 21:1  And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.  2  And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.  3  And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.-  It’s a “new heaven” and a “new earth” because heaven, New Jerusalem, came down from above and is now here on earth and God now dwells here.)

Matthew 25:31  When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:

Matthew 25:34  Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: (Galatians 4:26; Hebrews 9:11, 11:16;  12:22;  Rev 1:1,3;  3:12;  21:2;  22)

Matthew 26:29  But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom.

Mark 13:14  But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains: (Matt 24:15.)

Mark 13:30  Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done. (Matt. 24:34)

Mark 14:62  And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven. (Matt. 26:64)

Luke 11:50  That the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation; 51  From the blood of Abel unto the blood of Zacharias, which perished between the altar and the temple: verily I say unto you, It shall be required of this generation. Luke 12:4  And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. 5  But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.

Luke 12:49  I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled?

Luke 18:7  And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?

8  I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth? (Compare Revelation 6:9) 

Luke 19:41  And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it, 42  Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes. 43  For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side, 44  And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.* 45  And he went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold therein, and them that bought; 46  Saying unto them, It is written, My house is the house of prayer: but ye have made it a den of thieves. 47  And he taught daily in the temple. But the chief priests and the scribes and the chief of the people sought to destroy him, 48  And could not find what they might do: for all the people were very attentive to hear him. Luke 21:5  And as some spake of the temple, how it was adorned with goodly stones and gifts, he said, 6  As for these things which ye behold, the days will come, in the which there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. (Matt 24:2) 7  And they asked him, saying, Master, but when shall these things be? and what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass? (Matt 24:3  His disciples equated the destruction of the temple with His return, His “Second Coming”, in judgment of the twelve tribes of Israel- Matt 19:28)

Luke 20:15  So they cast him out of the vineyard, and killed him. What therefore shall the lord of the vineyard do unto them? 16  He shall come and destroy these husbandmen, and shall give the vineyard to others. And when they heard it, they said, God forbid. 17  And he beheld them, and said, What is this then that is written, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner? 18  Whosoever shall fall upon that stone shall be broken; but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder. 19  And the chief priests and the scribes the same hour sought to lay hands on him; and they feared the people: for they perceived that he had spoken this parable against them.

Luke 21:20  And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh. (Luke 19:43;  Matt 24:15)

Luke 21:22  For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.

Luke 21:24  And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled. (see events of 70 A.D. in Josephus’ “The Jewish Wars”)

Luke 21:25  And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; (see Josephus’ “The Jewish Wars”)

Luke 21:26  Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

Luke 21:28  And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

Luke 21:32 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled. (Matt 24:34)

Luke 21:33  Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away. (the “old heaven” and the “old earth” passed away bringing in the “new heaven” and the “new earth”- Rev 21,22)

Luke 22:18  For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come. (The Kingdom of Heaven, New Jerusalem, was “at hand”.)

Luke 22:37  For I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned among the transgressors: for the things concerning me have an end.

Luke 23:28  But Jesus turning unto them said, Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me, but weep for yourselves, and for your children. 29  For, behold, the days are coming, in the which they shall say, Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that never bare, and the paps which never gave suck. 30  Then shall they begin to say to the mountains, Fall on us; and to the hills, Cover us. (Compare Rev. 6:14-17)

Luke 24:21  But we trusted that it had been he which should have redeemed Israel: and beside all this, to day is the third day since these things were done.

John 5:25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. (Matt. 24--25)

John 5:28  Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming,[and now is], in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, 29  And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.  (1 Cor. 15:35-38.)

John 6:39  And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. (Phil. 3:11). (The last hour of the last day had arrived.)

John 12:27  Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour. 28  Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again. 29  The people therefore, that stood by, and heard it, said that it thundered: others said, An angel spake to him. 30  Jesus answered and said, This voice came not because of me, but for your sakes. 31  Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out. (John 14:30; 16:11; 2 Cor. 4:4; Eph. 2:2, 6:12;  Luke 10:18; Col. 1:18-20; Acts 26:18; 1 Cor. 15:25,26; Rev. 20:14.)

John 12:48  He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. (That is the day that Jesus returned in judgment of the twelve tribes of Israel- Matt 19:28.)

John 14:2  In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. John 14:3  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. (They were anticipating His return.)

John 14:18  I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. 19  Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. 20  At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. 21  He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. 22  Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?

John 16:11  Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged. (John 12:31.)

John 21:22  Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? follow thou me.

Acts 1:6  When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?

Acts 1:8  But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Acts 2:14  But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words: 15  For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day.16  But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; 17  And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: (They were in the “last days” but the “last day” was rapidly approaching.)

Acts 2:40  And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.

Acts 3:12  And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk? 13  The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let him go. 14  But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you; 15  And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses. 16  And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all. 17  And now, brethren, I wot that through ignorance ye did it, as did also your rulers. 18  But those things, which God before had shewed by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled. 19  Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; (i.e. judgment day)

Acts 7:30  And when forty years were expired, there appeared to him in the wilderness of mount Sina an angel of the Lord in a flame of fire in a bush. (Forty years after Jesus ascended into heaven, He returned in judgment of the twelve tribes of Israel [Matt 19:28] when God used General Titus to  make the final assault on Jerusalem and the temple in 70 A.D.)

  

Acts 13:39  And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses. 40  Beware therefore, lest that come upon you, which is spoken of in the prophets; 41  Behold, ye despisers, and wonder, and perish: for I work a work in your days, a work which ye shall in no wise believe, though a man declare it unto you.

Acts 17:31  Because he hath appointed a day [and that day was near], in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.

Acts 18:1  After these things Paul departed from Athens, and came to Corinth; 2  And found a certain Jew named Aquila, born in Pontus, lately come from Italy, with his wife Priscilla; (because that Claudius had commanded all Jews to depart from Rome:) and came unto them.

Acts 24:15  And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust.

Acts 24:25  And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come, Felix trembled, and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee.

Romans 2:5  But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;

Romans 2:16  In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.

For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. 2  Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. 3  For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: 4  For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil. 5  Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake. 6  For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God's ministers, attending continually upon this very thing. 7  Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour. (I believe that the “powers that be” back then were ordained by God because they were integral players in God’s plan that was about to be fulfilled. After His plan was fulfilled, God hasn’t ordained  any more “powers that be”.)

Romans 13:12  The night is far spent, the day [of the Lord] is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.

Romans 16:20  And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.

1  Corinthians 1:6  Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you: 7  So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ:  8  Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

1  Corinthians 2:6  Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought: 7  But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery*, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: 8  Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. (* the Mystery of God; Rev 10:7)

1 Corinthians 3:11  For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12  Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; 13  Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.

1 Corinthians 4:5 Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come*, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.  (*Until the Lord come The Lord Jesus at the Day of Judgment, when all secrets shall be revealed, and a true judgment shall be passed on all men.)

1 Corinthians 4:13 Being defamed, we intreat: we are made as the filth of the world, and are the offscouring of all things unto this day.

1 Corinthians 5:4  In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, 5  To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

1 Corinthians 6:1  Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints? 2  Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?  3  Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?

1 Corinthians 7:26 I suppose therefore that this is good for the present distress, I say, that it is good for a man so to be. 27 Art thou bound unto a wife? seek not to be loosed. Art thou loosed from a wife? seek not a wife. 28 But and if thou marry, thou hast not sinned; and if a virgin marry, she hath not sinned. Nevertheless such shall have trouble in the flesh: but I spare you. 29 But this I say, brethren, the time is short: it remaineth, that both they that have wives be as though they had none;( see Matthew 24:22  "And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.")30 And they that weep, as though they wept not; and they that rejoice, as though they rejoiced not; and they that buy, as though they possessed not; 31 And they that use this world, as not abusing it: for the fashion of this world passeth away. 1 Corinthians 10:11  Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

“For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.  But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.  Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.  For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.   The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.”  (1 Corinthians 15:22-26)

Galatians 2:11  But when Peter was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed. (Acts 11:19-26) 12  For before that certain came from James, he did eat with the Gentiles: but when they were come, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing them which were of the circumcision.

Galatians 2:15  We who are Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles, 16  Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. Galatians 2:20  I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. (Gal 1:4)

Galatians 3:1 O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you? 2 This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?  3 Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?  4  Have ye suffered so many things in vain? if it be yet in vain. 5  He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

Galatians 3:6  Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness. (Gen 15:6; Rom 4:3)

7  Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham. (Gen 15:6; Rom 4:3)

Galatians 3:8  And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed. (Gen 12:3; 18:18; Acts 3:25)  9  So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham. (Rom 4:13-16)  10  For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. (Deut 27:26)  11  But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. (Heb 2:4; Rom 1:17; Heb 10:8)

Galatians 3:12  And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them. (Lev 18:5; Rom 10:5)  13  Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: (Deut 21:23)  14  That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. (Romans 4:13-16)

Galatians 3:16  Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ. (Gen 12:7; Romans 4:13-16)  17  And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect. (Ex 12:40)  18  For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise. (Rom 11:6)  19  Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator. (Rom 5:20)

Galatians 3:21  Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law. (Rom 8:2-4)  22  But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe. (Rom 3:9-19; 11:32)

Galatians 3:28  There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. (Rom 10:12)  29  And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Galatians 4:21  Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law?  22  For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman.  23  But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise. (Rom 9:7-9)  24  Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar.  25  For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children.

Galatians 4:26  But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all. 1 Thessalonians 5:1  But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.

2  For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. 3  For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. 4  But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.

1 Thessalonians 5:23  And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Cor. 9:27.)

2 Thessalonians 1:4  So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure*: 5  Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer:  6  Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you; 7  And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels**, 8  In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ***:  9  Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power****; 10  When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day. (*Matt 24:13; **Matt 16:28; ***2 Pet 3:10  But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.; ****Revelation 21:7  He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. 8  But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.; And in 70 A.D. Titus first burned the temple in Jerusalem and then later dismantled it so that “not one stone of the temple was left upon another”.  Judea (Israel) was wiped off the map.)

2 Thessalonians 2:1  Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, 2  That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. 3  Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; (Matt 24:15; John 18:12; Revelation 13:13; John 17:12.  They were misled into believing that the resurrection had already taken place.  Paul reassured them that other events, namely  1) a falling away of believers who couldn’t endure the 3 ½ year tribulation period that started when the “man of sin”, “son of perdition” aka the “abomination of desolation standing in the Holy Place of the temple in Jerusalem- Matt24:15,  the “beast from the sea” and  the “image of the beast from the sea”- Rev 13, that stood in the holy place of the temple that ultimately came to life, and then 2)  the revealing of the “man of sin”, the “son of perdition”, had to happen before the day of the Lord would come.) 4  Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. 5  Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? 6  And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. 7  For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. 8  And then shall that Wicked [the “man of sin”, the “son of perdition”, the “abomination of desolation”, the “beast from the sea”, the “image of the beast from the sea”] be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming*: 9  Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10  And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11  And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12  That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. (* Rev 19:20  And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.)

2 Thessalonians 3:5  And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.

1 Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times* some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; (2 Thess. 2:3.  *they were in “the latter times”)

1 Timothy 4:8  For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.

1 Timothy 6:13  I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession; 14  That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ: (1 Thess. 2:19; 4:16; 5:23. They were to “keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable,…” because they were going to witness the appearing of the Lord Jesus Christ.)

1 Timothy 6:19  Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.

2 Timothy 1:12  For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

2 Timothy 1:18 The Lord grant unto him that he may find mercy of the Lord in that day: and in how many things he ministered unto me at Ephesus, thou knowest very well. (2 Tim. 1:12; 2 Tim. 4:19)

2 Timothy 3:1  This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. (2 Tim. 4; 1 Tim. 4:1; Heb. 1:2; 2 Thess. 2:1-12;  1 Tim. 4:1-3. )

2 Timothy 3:5  Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. 6  For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,

2 Timothy 3:8  Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith. 9  But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was.

2 Timothy 4:1  I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; (Matt 16:28, 19:28, 24:34; 2 Thess. 2:8; 1 Tim. 6:14; 2 Tim. 1:10; Tit. 2:13; Rom. 14:11; Phil. 2:10.)

2 Timothy 4:3  For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4   And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. (1 Tim. 1:4.)

2 Timothy 4:17  Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion*.  (*The persecution of the Christians in Rome by Nero, who I believe was the “man of sin”, the “son of perdition”, the “abomination of desolation”, the “beast from the sea”, the “image of the beast from the sea”, was in effect but so far Paul had escaped “the mouth of the lion”.)

Titus 1:2  In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;

Titus 2:11  For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, 12  Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; 13  Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; 14  Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people*, zealous of good works. (* 'peculiar people'- The "Israel of God"- Gal 6:16)  15  These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.

Titus 3:1  Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work, 2  To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men. 3  For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another. (Rom 13:1- see note)

Titus 3:8  This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men. 9  But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.

Hebrews 1:2  Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

Hebrews 1:14  Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?

Hebrews 2:5  For unto the angels hath he not put in subjection the world to come, whereof we speak.

Hebrews 6:5  And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,

Hebrews 6:7  For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God: 8  But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.

Hebrews 6:11  And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:

Hebrews 8:8  For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah: 9  Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord. 10  For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: 11  And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest. 12  For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more. 13  In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.

Hebrews 9:8  The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing: 9  Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience; 10  Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation. (Compare Gal. 4:19; Eph. 2:21-22; 3:17; 4:13)

Hebrews 9:11  But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; (New Jerusalem; Hebrews 11:16; 12:22;  Matt 25:34;  Galatians 4:26; Rev 1:1,3;  3:12;  21:2;  22)

Hebrews 9:15  And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance. (Hebrews 9:16,17)

Hebrews 9:24  For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us: (New Jerusalem; Rom. 8:34;  Hebrews 7:25; 11:16; 12:22;  Matt 25:34;  Galatians 4:26; Rev 1:1,3;  3:12;  21:2; 22.)

Hebrews 9:26  For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.

Hebrews 9:27  And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: 28  So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. (Matt. 25:31, Acts 1:11.)

Hebrews 10:1  For the law having a shadow of good things to come,

Hebrews 10:9  Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.

Hebrews 10:12  But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; 13  From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. (Ps. 110:1, Isa. 26:5,6.)

Hebrews 10:16  This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;

Hebrews 10:25  Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. (Ps. 27:13; 1 Sam. 26:10; Jer. 30:7; Ezek. 21:5; Isa. 2:12;  Matt. 24:6-12,24,26).

Hebrews 10:27  But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

Hebrews 10:37  For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry.

Hebrews 11:16  But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city. (Hebrews 9:11; 12:22;  Matt. 25:34;  Galatians 4:26;  Rev 1:1,3;  3:12;  21:2;  22)

Hebrews 12:22  But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, (Heb. 11:10,14-16; 12:28; 13:14; Gal. 4:26; Rev. 3:12; 21:2,10-27.)

Hebrews 13:14  For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come. (see Hebrews 12:22)

James 1:1  James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting. ( Rom. 1:1;  Philem. 1:16; Gal. 1:19; Matt. 11:50; 1 Pet. 1:1; John 7:35; Acts 15:23, 26:7

James 2:12  So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.

James 5:1  Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you. 2  Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are motheaten. 3  Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days.

James 5:7  Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain. 8  Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh. 9  Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door.

1 Peter 1:5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

1 Peter 1:18  Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; 19  But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: 20  Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,

2 Peter 1:16 For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.

2 Peter 1:19  We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:

2 Peter 2:3  And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.

2 Peter 3:3  Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, 4  And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. 5  For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: 6  Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: 7  But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. 8  But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 9  The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 10  But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

2 Peter 3:12  Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? 13  Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

1 John 2:8  Again, a new commandment I write unto you, which thing is true in him and in you: because the darkness is past, and the true light now shineth.

1 John 2:17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

Jude 1:18  How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.

Revelation 3:20  Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. (Rev 1:1,3)

Revelation 4:1  After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter. (Rev 1:1,3)

Revelation 5:9  And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; 10  And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth. (Rev 1:1,3)

Revelation 6:9  And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: 10  And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? 11  And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled. (Rev 1:1,3; Compare Luke 18:7-8)

Revelation 6:16  And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: 17  For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand? (Rev 1:1,3)

Revelation 7:4  And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel. (Rev 1:1,3)

Revelation 10:7  But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets. (Rev 1:1,3; Matt 24:31; 1 Cor 15:51; Col 4:2)

Revelation 11:1  And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein.** 2  But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months. (Luke 21:24) 3  And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth. (Rev 1:1,3; Luke 21:24) **(The temple was still standing when John wrote these words so Revelation had to be written before 70 A.D., the year the temple was destroyed.)

Revelation 11:7  And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them. 8  And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified. (Rev 1:1,3) (Compare: Matt 24:15;  II Thess. 2:1-4, 8[the Wicked- KJV, the lawless one- ASV];  I Jn. 4:3;  Rev. 13: 1-18, 17: 8)

Revelation 11:15  And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever. (Rev 1:1,3; Matt 24:31; 1 Cor 15:51)

Revelation 11:19  And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail. (Rev 1:1,3)

Revelation 12:5  And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne. (Rev 1:1,3)

Revelation 13:1  And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. 2  And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority. 3  And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast. 4  And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him? 5  And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months. 6  And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven. 7  And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. 8  And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. 9  If any man have an ear, let him hear. 10  He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints. 11  And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. 12  And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. 13  And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, 14  And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live. 15  And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed. 16  And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: 17  And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. 18  Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six. Revelation 14:1  And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads. (Rev 1:1,3)

Revelation 14:3  And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth. (Rev 1:1,3)

Revelation 14:11  And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name. (Rev 1:1,3)

Revelation 14:12  Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus. (Rev 1:1,3)

Revelation 14:13  And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them. (Rev 1:1,3)

Revelation 14:14  And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle. (Rev 1:1,3)

Revelation 16:6  For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy. (Rev 1:1,3; Matthew 23:29-35; Luke 11:50)

Revelation 17:8  The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is. (Rev 1:1,3) (Compare:  Matt 24:15; II Thess. 2:1-4, 8[the Wicked- KJV, the lawless one- ASV];  I Jn. 4:3;  Rev. 11: 7, 13: 1-18;  The appearance of “the abomination that causes desolation [of the temple] of Matthew 24:15 sparks the beginning of the 3 ½ year tribulation period. The Jews erected an image of Nero in the temple because Nero was persecuting the Christians in Rome.  Paul was killed during Nero’s reign. The Jews probably convinced Nero that the Christians started the fire in Rome.  So Nero then had the Christians killed.  The Jews made an image of Nero in their temple in honor of him because he was killing the Christians and had killed Paul- something the Jews were unable to accomplish.  After Nero died of a wound by a sword, his image came to life in the temple. See Rev 13:1-18.)

Revelation 18:4  And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her [Jerusalem], my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. (Rev 1:1,3) (Compare Matt. 23:35-36; Lk. 11:50-51)

Revelation 20:7  And when the thousand years [the 3 1/2 day period the bodies of "two witnesses" of Rev 11 lay unburied in the streets of Jerusalem, which were resurrected after the 3 1/2 days had passed] are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, 8  And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.  9  And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints [the Church in Jerusalem] about , and the beloved city [beloved because it contained the Church]: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them. 10  And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. (Rev 1:1,3)

Revelation 21:1  And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away [it was a new heaven and new earth because heaven, New Jerusalem, came down from above and now God dwells with man]; and there was no more sea. 2  And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem*, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3  And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. (Rev 1:1,3; 3:12; 21:2; 22; Matt. 25:34; Galatians 4:26; Hebrews 9:11, 11:16; 12:22. * see Rev 21:16)

Revelation 21:16  And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs[1,500 miles]. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal. (Rev 1:1,3)(* Compare Gen 15:18-21. The land area matches exactly what was promised to Abraham, a man of faith. New Jerusalem is inherited by Christians.)

Revelation 22:6  And he said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to shew unto his servants the things which must shortly be done.

Revelation 22:7  Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book. (Rev 1:1,3)

Revelation 22:10  And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand. (Rev 1:1,3) (Compare Dan. 8:26)

Revelation 22:12  And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. (Rev 1:1,3)

Revelation 22:20  He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. (Rev 1:1,3)
