The downward spiral, Britain: in Britain in 1965 capital punishment was abolished. In 1967 the Abortion Act was passed, legalizing the murder of several million unborn children. Also in 1967 the Sexual Offenses Act legitimized sodomy. In 1993 the Matrimonial Causes Act introduced easier divorce, giving Britain one of the highest divorce rates in Europe. In 1997 the Obscene Publications Act gave greater freedom to those promoting pornography. America is not very different. The downward spiral, Hollwood: In the movie "The Paperboy" (now playing) Nicole Kidman and Matthew McConaughey descend to the depths of scum degeneracy: one cannot even fathom the disgusting level to which these two extremely wealthy actors have descended without any concern that their children will one day view this degenerate trash, or the harm it does by degrading our world ever more. Sixty years ago everyone connected with this horrific filth would have been arrested. They would never have worked in movies again. In 2012 "The Paper Boy" barely rates the bat of an eyelash. One can only conclude that these much admired movie stars are far gone in mental illness to have played the parts they did in this sewer of a film. No self-respecting child of God would have ever done it. Pray for them.

Throughout history the Jews have been the leaders in the attack on Christianity and the Christian Church.

The words of Athanasius (ca AD 350 when the canonization of the New Testament was taking place in Rome):

"For now He has come into our realm, and taken up His abode in one Body among his peers, henceforth the whole conspiracy of the enemy against mankind is checked, and the corruption of death which before was prevailing against them is done. For the race of men had gone to ruin, had not the Lord and Saviour of all, the Son of God, come among us to meet the end of death."- Athanasius' "On the Incarnation of the Word", Section 9, Verse 4; cf. 1 Corinthians 15: 21-26.

"Perhaps regard to thr other (prophecies) they (the Jews) may be able to even find excuses and to put off what is written to a future time.  But what can they say to this, or can they face it at all?  Where not only is the Christ referred to, but He that is to be anointed is declared to be not man simply, but Holy of Holies and Jerusalem is to stand until His coming, and thenceforth, prophet and vision cease in Israel."-  Athanasius' "On the Incarnation of the Word", Section 39, Verse 3; cf. Johann Andreas Eisenmenger, author of 'The Traditions of the Jews', was a Jew turned Christian who died in 1704, a couple of years after approximately two thousand copies of his book were destroyed by the Jews who did not want his expository book on them published. Eisenmenger refused a huge bribe and had his book published. The Jews in turn confiscated the books and had them destroyed. It is said that Eisenmenger died of a broken heart because of what he went through with his book. But I doubt that. Knowing how the Jews throughout history have dealt with their adversaries, they probably had him killed for exposing them for what they truly believe.

This is an excerpt from his book which exposed the un-Biblical beliefs and traditions of the Jews (at that time, 1704) concerning the Messiah and the time of his appearing:

"The ancient Jews, before the Birth of Christ, were not far from the Mark, since there was an Opinion among them, that the World was to continue Six Thousand Years; which Space of Time they divided thus: For the First 2000 years, said they, the World was without Law. For the succeeding Two Thousand, the World was to be under the Law. The remaining Two Thousand they assign'd to the reign of the Messiah. They therefore expected his Coming upon the Completion of Four Thousand Years from Creation: And they err'd not far from the Truth: For, according to the Common Reckoning of Christians, Christ, the true messiah, was born in the Year of the World 3963; or, according to the Jewish Computation, in the Year 3761; their account differing from ours Two Hundred and Two Years. But because he came neither like a David nor a Solomon; neither like a mighty Monarch, nor an illustrious Prince; because he neither deliver'd them from the Tyranny of an Alien Herod and the Roman Yoke, nor bruis'd their enemies to Pieces with a Scepter of Iron, but open'd his Empire with the Spiritual Scepter of his Word, they would not receive him for the true Messiah.... And therefore, in the Fifty Second Year from the Destruction of the Temple [AD122], a certain haughty arrogant Jew obtruded himself upon his Countrymen for the True Messiah, challenging to himself that the Prophecy of Balaam, 'There shall come a Star out of Jacob, and a Scepter shall rise out of Israel, and shall smite the Princes of Moab, and destroy all the Chidren of Seth. And Edom shall be his possession; (S)eir also shall be a possession for his Enemies (These Things were then understood of the infant State of Christiandom; and even to this Day [ca 1704] they [the Jews] look for the Coming of a Messiah to accomplish them) and Israel shall do valiantly.' The Tidings of the Pretensions of this Jew were most welcome to his Nation, as they were given to understand, that they were to conquer and bear rule over the Romans, who had so lately destroyed the City and the Temple.  And that Imposter, from the Terms of the Prophecy, assum'd the Title of Bar cochabh; that is, The Rising Star. He was soon join'd and supported by that most learned Rabbi Akiva, who had Twenty Four Thousand Disciples, ando publickaly proclaimed him in these Words, "Behold the very King Messiah."  By this Means the Imposter, who fix'd his regal Residence at Bithera, drew after him a mighty Number of People.  But, soon after, he was block'd up there by the Emperour Adrian; who, after a Siege of Four Years and a Half, took the City by Storm, and with it this Star, this Messiah, whom he put to Death; at the same Time miserably slaying Four Millions of Jews. And This is believ'd by the Majority even at this Day [ca 1704].  Hence it is, that Rabbi Sol. Jarchi writes, "Our Ancestors judg'd, that the Messuah was born the Day that Jerusalem was left made desolate. But where he lies conceal'd all this Time, is a Matter upon which they are by no Means agreed..."  **

The Messiah of AD122 was welcomed by the Jews because he promised revenge on Rome for what they did in AD70- they destroyed Jerusalem and the temple and wiped Israel off the map.

"Christiandom" as Eisenmenger reveals, has been highly influenced by the Jews who are antichristian. The Jews traditions and superstitions  have infiltrated into the church.  They managed to infiltrate their misinterpretations and misunderstandings into the CREEDS of the Church.

The similarity between the Jews' waiting for their Messiah and "Christiandom"'s waiting for the Second Coming are evident.

Yet Christians continue to be fooled by the "Jews in sheeps' clothing" misinterpretations and lies.

Those Christians in Rome were removed ~280 years from the events of AD70 and had little understanding of Scripture. The Jews took advantage of that and fooled those post-AD70 Christians into believing their "traditions of men" that Jesus Himself warned about and condemned.

The majority of Christians have been PURPOSELY misled into believing, amongst many other things, that we humans, and in particular we Christians, will never know all things.

They have been taught, over the centuries, that God DOES NOT WANT US TO KNOW ALL THINGS AND THAT HE HAS HIDDEN CERTAIN THINGS FROM OUR UNDERSTANDING.

This is in direct violation of what Apostle Paul said in 2 Timothy 2:7.

Futurists Conditioned To Believe It WAS NOT/IS NOT On the 12 Tribes of Israel

Futurists CONTINUE to deny that Jesus' RETURN (His "Second Coming") WAS/IS ON THE 12 TRIBES OF ISRAEL.

They have been conditioned, over the centuries, to deny Jesus' Words:

Matthew 19:28  And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

"What Is There To Look Forward To If ALL Has Been Fulfilled?"

Futurists continually ask this question.

If all has not been fulfilled, as futurists claim, then-

The resurrection of the dead hasn't taken place and ALL, from the time of Adam to this day, are still in the grave, waiting to be resurrected. 

ALL, including Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, ...John the Baptist, the Apostles,... even those "souls of them [who were under the altar] that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held... [who] cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?  And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled." (Revelation 6: 9-11) That "little season" has stretched out for close to 2,000 years and is STILL counting.  NOBODY is in heaven yet... THEY ARE ALL STILL WAITING. Futurists must admit that at the sound of the last trump "... the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed." (1 Corinthians 15:52)

The "Mystery of God" hasn't been fulfilled.

There are many verses referring to the "Mystery of God". I like to call it God's Plan.  I believe the "Mystery of God", His Plan, was fulfilled in AD70 because the Bible says so:

Mark 4:11 And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:...

Ephesians 1:9  Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:
10  That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:
11  In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:

Colossians 1:26  Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:
27  To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:...

The "Mystery of God" WAS REVEALED TO THE APOSTLES.  THEY WERE THE FIRST TO HEAR IT. THEY WERE THE ONES WHO WERE PREDESTINED TO HAVE IT REVEALED TO THEM.  THEY WERE THE ONES WHO WERE INTEGRAL IN ITS FULFILLMENT. NOT US.  WE ARE BLESSED BECAUSE ALL THE WORK TO BRING ABOUT THE COMPLETION OF THE "MYSTERY OF GOD" WAS ACCOMPLISHED BY JESUS CHRIST AND HIS APOSTLES.  WE HAVE IT EASY.  THEY WERE THE ONES WHO BROUGHT ABOUT THE FULFILLMENT.  WE HAVE NO INVOLVEMENT IN BRINGING ABOUT THE COMPLETION OF THE "MYSTERY OF GOD" BECAUSE THEY DID IT.  ALL WE CAN DO TODAY IS "OVERCOME THE WORLD" BY BELIEVING IN AND HAVING FAITH IN JESUS.  THAT
AND PROMOTE HIS KINGDOM, NEW JERUSALEM, TO OTHERS.

Jesus Christ's return (His "Second Coming") in judgment of the Twelve tribes of Israel hasn't taken place yet.

Matthew 19:28  And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

Futurists have been conditioned, over the centuries, to refuse to acknowledge that Jesus' return (His "Second Coming") in judgment is/was of the Twelve Tribes of Israel.  They have been conditioned, over the centuries, to believe that the events of AD70, primarily the destruction of that temple in Jerusalem where "not one stone was left upon another", WERE NOT Jesus' return (His "Second Coming") in judgment of the Twelve Tribes of Israel.

Jesus' Apostles EQUATED the destruction of that temple in Jerusalem with His return (His "Second Coming") in judgment OF THE TWELVE TRIBES OF ISRAEL.  Futurists have been conditioned, over the centuries, to believe otherwise.

Futurists have been conditioned, over the centuries, to believe the lie that Jesus' return (His "Second Coming") in judgment OF THE TWELVE TRIBES OF ISRAEL WAS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN DURING THAT GENERATION'S LIFETIME:

Matthew 16:28  Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.

Matthew 24:34  Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

Revelation 1:1  The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:...

Revelation 1:3  Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.

Revelation 1:7  Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.

Revelation 22:7  Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.

Futurists have been conditioned, over the centuries, to believe that:

some of those standing there in Matthew 16:28  WERE NOT STILL ALIVE WHEN JESUS RETURNED (His "Second Coming") in judgment OF THE TWELVE TRIBES OF ISRAEL.

IT WAS NOT THAT GENERATION (of Matthew 24:34) THAT WOULD STILL BE IN EXISTENCE TO WITNESS JESUS' RETURN (His "Second Coming") in judgment OF THE TWELVE TRIBES OF ISRAEL.

Revelation 1:1's  "must shortly come to pass" means not "must shortly come to pass" but means "1,000's of years into the future before it will come to pass".

Revelation 1:3's and 22:10's "for the time is at hand" and "at hand" means not "at hand" but means "1,000's of years into the future".

Revelation 1:7's   "they [the Roman soldiers] also which pierced him" will miracuously reappear 1,000's of years into the future when Jesus returns (His "Second Coming") in judgment OF THE TWELVE TRIBES OF ISRAEL instead of them being at Jerusalem under the command of Roman General Titus when they besieged Jerusalem and her temple and wiped Israel off the map in AD70 when Jesus returned (His "Second Coming") in judgment OF THE TWELVE TRIBES OF ISRAEL.

Revelation 22:7's, 12's, and 20's "I come quickly" does not mean "I come quickly" but means "I am coming not quickly (like it sounds) but 1,000's of years into the future (and surely not during this generation's lifetime like Matthew 16:28 and 24:34 state) to judge not the Twelve Tribes of Israel (like Matthew 19:28 states) but to judge the entire world and have it blown to smithereens.

The final enemy, death, has not been defeated.

The final enemy, death WAS defeated when, at the sounding of the last trumpet, the resurrection took place and the souls of those of the faith were released from the grave and met with Jesus in His Kingdom, New Jerusalem, when He returned (His "Second Coming") in judgment OF THE TWELVE TRIBES OF ISRAEL.

Satan, the Beast from the sea (the "Antichrist") and the false prophet (the beast from the earth) are still or will be active in the future AND ARE NOT IN THE LAKE OF FIRE being tormented day and night forever and forever.

Instead, Satan is alive and well here on planet earth (which means that the "millenium", the "thousand years" of Revelation 20 has already passed BECAUSE Satan is gathering the nations to war against the camp of the saints (the Church) in Jerusalem).

Romans 16:20  And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.

8  And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.
9  And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.
10  And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
Revelation 20:11  And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
12  And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
13  And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
14  And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15  And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

ALL these "things" mentioned in Revelation 20 ALREADY TOOK PLACE BECAUSE THE BIBLE AND JESUS AND HIS APOSTLES SAID SO:

Revelation 1:1  The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants
"things" which must shortly come to pass.

These examples are but a few of the many that we today must realize have ALREADY HAPPENED.

God's Kingdom of Heaven, New Jerusalem, HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED.

A true believer inherits God's Kingdom of Heaven, New Jerusalem. 

He/she will not experience "death" because instead of going to the grave awaiting to be resurrected, he/she will inherit New Jerusalem and go there directly when they pass from this life to life eternal.

Jesus did return (His "Second Coming") in judgment of the Twelve Tribes of Israel when He said He would- during that generation's lifetime.

Death was defeated when, at the sounding of the last trumpet, the resurrection of the dead took place.

Satan along with the beast, the false prophet, death and Hell (Hades) were cast into the lake of fire.

AND now- when a person of FAITH dies physically, he/she does not go to the grave (awaiting to be resurrected), but instead goes directly to God's Kingdom of Heaven, New Jerusalem. 

The "overcomers" of this world (those who believe in and have faith in Jesus Christ) INHERIT New Jerusalem [ref. Revelation 21].

ALL is complete.  "It is done".

Preterism, not Futurism, is TRUE Christianity.

The Antichrist

                         

Everybody is saying that the "Antichrist" is yet to come OR is here right now and is performing his duties.

Who is this "Antichrist" everybody is fascinated with?

I will assume that the "Antichrist" everybody is talking about is "the beast from the sea" from Revelation 13.

Revelation 13:1  And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.

John certainly was not describing a literal "beast" who lived in the sea. Like a Loch Ness monster.

We all realize that it is a man who he is describing because of:

Revelation 13:18  Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

So he is a man from the sea.

He did not literally live in the sea. He "rose up out of the sea."

What John is saying is that this man came from a foreign land from across the sea. He is a man from a foriegn country other than Judea.

Jesus prophecied the "Antichrist".

He referred to him as "the abomination of desolation" who literally stands in the Holy Place of the temple in Jerusalem:

Matthew 24:15  "When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)
16  Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:..."

Paul prophecied the "Antichrist".

He referred to him as "the man of sin" and "the son of perdition" who literally "sitteth in the temple of God" (the temple in Jerusalem):

2 Thessalonians 2:1  "Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,
2  That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
3  Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
4  Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
5  Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?
6  And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.
7  For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.
8  And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
9  Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
10  And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11  And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
12  That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness."

The "son of perdition" is mentioned in:

Revelation 17:8  The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.

Revelation 17:11  And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.
Revelation 17:12  And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.
Revelation 17:13  These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.
Revelation 17:16  And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.
Revelation 17:17  For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.

The "beast from the sea" and his "image" of Revelation 13 is the same beast of Revelation 11 and Revelation 17 and Matthew 24's "abomination of desolation" and 2 Thessalonians 2:1's "man of sin" and "son of perdition".

I believe the 'man of sin' mentioned here is synonymous with 'the abomination that causes desolation.'

In verse 4 Paul mentions that '...he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.'

The "image" of "the beast from the sea" is who "stands"and "sits" in the temple in Jerusalem.

The "beast from the earth (Israel/Judea)", who is also known as the "false prophet", makes the people of Jerusalem to construct an "image" of the "beast from the sea"- the "Antichrist".  This image comes to life and is able to speak.  It is the image of the beast from the sea who actually "stands" and "sits" in the temple.  The "beast from the sea", who had died from a fatal sword attack, comes back to life through the image that the people of Jerusalem constructed that was commissioned by the "beast from the earth":

Revelation 13:14  And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.

15  And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.
16  And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
17  And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
18  Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

The "Antichrist" was Nero.

When written in Hebrew "Nero Caesar" adds up to 666.

Nero persecuted the Christians after he was convinced that it was the Christians who started the fire in Rome.

Historians are not sure how Nero died.

The Bible says that the "Antichrist" came back to life after a fatal sword wound.

It was the image of Nero that came to life that stood and sat in the temple in Jerusalem.

It was the image of Nero who had the "two witnesses" of Revelation 11 killed:

Revelation 11:7  And when they [the two witnesses] shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.

8  And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.
9  And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves.
10  And they that dwell upon the earth (Israel/Judea) shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth (Israel/Judea).
11  And after three days and an half the Spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them.
12  And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them.
13  And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven.

When Nero's image was allowed to stand in the Holy Place of the temple in Jerusalem, the 3 1/2 year tribulation period began.

Matthew 24:15  When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)

16  Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:
17  Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:
18  Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.
19  And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
20  But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:
21  For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
22  And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

The allowance of Nero's image to stand in the Holy Place of the temple in Jerusalem was a major contributing factor to the destruction of that temple in AD70.

Jesus' Apostles equated the destruction of the temple in Jerusalem with His return (His "Second Coming") in judgment of the Twelve Tribes of Israel.

Matthew 24:2  And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.

3  And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?

Matthew 19:28  And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

There are many verses that state that Jesus' "Second Coming" occured during the 1st century- during THAT generation's lifetime.   His return in judgment of the Twelve Tribes of Israel happened in AD70 when that temple was destroyed.

Matthew 16:28  Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.

Matthew 24:34  Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

"...till all these things be fulfilled."

All these "things"- including the appearance of the "Antichrist", who was allowed to stand in the temple uttering blasphemies, AND the subsequent destruction of that temple, which was equated to Jesus' return in judgment of the Twelve Tribes of Israel, WERE fulfilled in AD70.

Preterism is true Christianity.

The Return (the "Second Coming") of Jesus in His Kingdom, New Jerusalem, in Judgment of the Twelve Tribes of Israel

In May of AD70 Roman General Titus began his final assault on Jerusalem and her temple. 

By August of AD70 Jerusalem was totally captured.

Her temple was burned and then was dismantled stone by stone down to its very foundation.

"Israel" was literally wiped off the map and the land was then known as Palestine.

For 1,878 years that land was known as Palestine.

Until 1948, when the United Nations reinstated it as Israel.

The original Israel was founded by God.  He was their King.  The nation of Israel was a theocracy.  Until they decided they wanted an earthly king like the other nations around them.

By the time our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ was born all that was left of the original Israel was Judea. And it was contained within Palestine.

After the events of AD70, Judea, the last remaining allotment of the original twelve tribes of Israel, was off the map.

Christ's Return (His "Second Coming") WAS in judgment of the Twelve Tribes of Israel.

Matthew 19:28  And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

Jesus and His Apostles Prophecied that His Return (His "Second Coming") in judgment of the Twelve Tribes of Israel was going to happen during THAT generation's lifetime.

There are many verses that state that Christ's return in His Kingdom, New Jerusalem, (His "Second Coming") in judgment of the twelve tribes of Israel was going to happen during that generation's lifetime.

Matthew 16:28 Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.

Matthew 24:34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

Jesus' Apostles equated the destruction of the temple in Jerusalem with His return (His "Second Coming") in judgment of the Twelve Tribes of Israel.

Matthew 24:2  And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
Matthew 24:3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?

Matthew 24:30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

Matthew 24:34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

THEY of THAT generation were anticipating God's Kingdom, the Kingdom of Heaven, the Kingdom of God- NEW JERUSALEM to come during THEIR lifetimes.

Matthew 6:10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

Luke 11:2 And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.

Matthew 3:2 And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Matthew 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Matthew 10:7 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.

God's Kingdom, the Kingdom of Heaven, the Kingdom of God- NEW JERUSALEM is a spiritual Kingdom and is NOT in the physical realm.

John 18:36 Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.

Matthew 23:13  But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.

Matthew 25:34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

Hebrews 11:16 But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.

Revelation 3:12 Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.

Revelation 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

The Israel of the Middle East IS NOT the true Israel- the "Israel of God".

Galatians 6:16 And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God.

The true Israel is the Christian Church which is comprised of those who have faith and belief in Jesus.

The main proof that I rely on to state that Jesus' return (His "Second Coming") in judgment of the Twelve Tribes of  Israel and the establishment of His Kingdom, New Jerusalem, was fulfilled in AD70 are His own words and the words of his Apostles. (And NOT the words of anyone's outside of Scripture.)

In Matthew 24:3 Jesus' Apostles ask Him what will be His sign indicating His return (His "Second Coming") in judgment of the Twelve Tribes of Israel.

In Matthew 24:30 He states "then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven..."  He said His sign would appear in heaven AFTER all the events from Matthew 24:4 through Matthew 24:29 have taken place.

I personally believe His sign, "the sign of the Son of Man", was "His Star":

Matthew 2:1 Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,
2 Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.

I believe it was this same star that guided the Magi to Bethlehem that REAPPEARED approximately 70 years later and hovered over Jerusalem indicating its impending doom.

To back this claim I refer to the writings of the historian Flavius Josephus who mentions in his The Jewish Wars of a star hovering over Jerusalem (amongst other phenomena) for a year before it was besieged by Roman General Titus. The historian Tacitus also recorded some noteworthy observations.

Josephus (A.D. 75) - Jewish Historian

"Besides these [signs], a few days after that feast, on the one- and-twentieth day of the month Artemisius, [Jyar,] a certain prodigious and incredible phenomenon appeared; I suppose the account of it would seem to be a fable, were it not related by those that saw it, and were not the events that followed it of so considerable a nature as to deserve such signals; for, before sun-setting, chariots and troops of soldiers in their armour were seen running about among the clouds, and surrounding of cities. Moreover, at that feast which we call Pentecost, as the priests were going by night into the inner [court of the] temple, as their custom was, to perform their sacred ministrations, they said that, in the first place, they felt a quaking, and heard a great noise, and after that they heard a sound as of a great multitude, saying, "Let us remove hence" (Jewish Wars, VI-V-3).

“A supernatural apparition was seen, too amazing to be believed. What I am now to relate would, I imagine, be dismissed as imaginary, had this not been vouched for by eyewitnesses, then followed by subsequent disasters that deserved to be thus signalized. For before sunset chariots were seen in the air over the whole country, and armed battalions speeding through the clouds and encircling the cities.” (rendered in Chilton)

Tacitus (A.D. 115) - Roman historian

"13. Prodigies had occurred, but their expiation by the offering of victims or solemn vows is held to be unlawful by a nation which is the slave of superstition and the enemy of true beliefs. In the sky appeared a vision of armies in conflict, of glittering armour. A sudden lightning flash from the clouds lit up the Temple. The doors of the holy place abruptly opened, a superhuman voice was heard to declare that the gods were leaving it, and in the same instant came the rushing tumult of their departure. Few people placed a sinister interpretation upon this. The majority were convinced that the ancient scriptures of their priests alluded to the present as the very time when the Orient would triumph and from Judaea would go forth men destined to rule the world." (Histories, Book 5, v. 13).
War 6.5.3 288-309

Thus were the miserable people persuaded by these deceivers, and such as belied God himself; while they did not attend nor give credit to the signs that were so evident, and did so plainly foretell their future desolation, but, like men infatuated, without either eyes to see or minds to consider, did not regard the denunciations that God made to them.

Star and Comet

Thus there was a star resembling a sword, which stood over the city, and a comet, that continued a whole year.

Light Around the Altar

Thus also before the Jews' rebellion, and before those commotions which preceded the war, when the people were come in great crowds to the feast of unleavened bread, on the eighth day of the month Xanthicus, [Nisan, April, about a week before Passover] and at the ninth hour of the night, so great a light shone round the altar and the holy house, that it appeared to be bright day time; which lasted for half an hour. This light seemed to be a good sign to the unskillful, but was so interpreted by the sacred scribes, as to portend those events that followed immediately upon it.

Cow Gives Birth to Lamb

At the same festival also, a heifer, as she was led by the high priest to be sacrificed, brought forth a lamb in the midst of the temple.

The Eastern Gate

Moreover, the eastern gate of the inner temple, which was of brass, and vastly heavy, and had been with difficulty shut by twenty men, and rested upon a basis armed with iron, and had bolts fastened very deep into the firm floor, which was there made of one entire stone, was seen to be opened of its own accord about the sixth hour of the night. Now those that kept watch in the temple came hereupon running to the captain of the temple, and told him of it; who then came up thither, and not without great difficulty was able to shut the gate again.

This also appeared to the vulgar to be a very happy prodigy, as if God did thereby open them the gate of happiness. But the men of learning understood it, that the security of their holy house was dissolved of its own accord, and that the gate was opened for the advantage of their enemies. So these publicly declared that the signal foreshowed the desolation that was coming upon them.

Miraculous Phenomenon of Chariots in the Air

Besides these, a few days after that feast, on the one and twentieth day of the month Artemisius, [Iyar, May or June] a certain prodigious and incredible phenomenon appeared: I suppose the account of it would seem to be a fable, were it not related by those that saw it, and were not the events that followed it of so considerable a nature as to deserve such signals; for, before sun-setting, chariots and troops of soldiers in their armor were seen running about among the clouds, and surrounding of cities.

Sound of a Great Multitude

Moreover, at that feast which we call Pentecost, as the priests were going by night into the inner [court of the temple,] as their custom was, to perform their sacred ministrations, they said that, in the first place, they felt a quaking, and heard a great noise, and after that they heard a sound as of a great multitude, saying, "Let us remove hence."

Jesus son of Ananias: A Voice from the East

But, what is still more terrible, there was one Jesus, the son of Ananus, a plebeian and a husbandman, who, four years before the war began, and at a time when the city was in very great peace and prosperity, came to that feast whereon it is our custom for every one to make tabernacles to God in the temple [Sukkot, autumn, 62 CE], began on a sudden to cry aloud,

"A voice from the east,
a voice from the west,
a voice from the four winds,
a voice against Jerusalem and the Holy House,
a voice against the bridegrooms and the brides,
and a voice against this whole people!"

This was his cry, as he went about by day and by night, in all the lanes of the city.

However, certain of the most eminent among the populace had great indignation at this dire cry of his, and took up the man, and gave him a great number of severe stripes; yet did not he either say any thing for himself, or any thing peculiar to those that chastised him, but still went on with the same words which he cried before.

Hereupon the magistrates, supposing, as the case proved to be, that this was a sort of divine fury in the man, brought him to the Roman procurator, where he was whipped till his bones were laid bare; yet he did not make any supplication for himself, nor shed any tears, but turning his voice to the most lamentable tone possible, at every stroke of the whip his answer was,

"Woe, woe to Jerusalem!"

And when Albinus (for he was then our procurator) asked him, Who he was? and whence he came? and why he uttered such words? he made no manner of reply to what he said, but still did not leave off his melancholy ditty, till Albinus took him to be a madman, and dismissed him.

Now, during all the time that passed before the war began, this man did not go near any of the citizens, nor was seen by them while he said so; but he every day uttered these lamentable words, as if it were his premeditated vow,

"Woe, woe to Jerusalem!"

Nor did he give ill words to any of those that beat him every day, nor good words to those that gave him food; but this was his reply to all men, and indeed no other than a melancholy presage of what was to come.

This cry of his was the loudest at the festivals; and he continued this ditty for seven years and five months, without growing hoarse, or being tired therewith, until the very time that he saw his presage in earnest fulfilled in our siege, when it ceased; for as he was going round upon the wall, he cried out with his utmost force,

"Woe, woe to the city again, and to the people, and to the Holy House!"

And just as he added at the last,

"Woe, woe to myself also!"

there came a stone out of one of the engines, and smote him, and killed him immediately; and as he was uttering the very same presages he gave up the ghost.

Athanasius of Alexandria (born ~293 CE, Alexandria -- died May 2 373 CE, Alexandria)  

Saint Athanasius, theologian, ecclesiastical statesman, and Egyptian national leader, was the chief defender of Christian orthodoxy in the 4th-century battle against Arianism, the heresy that the Son of God was a creature of like, but not of the same, substance as God the Father. Athanasius attended the Council of Nicaea (325) and shortly thereafter became bishop of Alexandria (328). For the rest of his life he was engaged in theological and political struggles with the Emperor and with Arian churchmen, being banished from Alexandria several times. He wrote many important works, including his major theological treatises, The Life of St. Antony and Four Orations against the Arians, and a number of letters on theological, pastoral, and administrative topics. These are quotes from Athanasius regarding the Jews' interpretation of the New Testament manuscripts and their influence in the development of the creeds of the Church in Rome:

“For now that He has come to our realm, and taken up his abode in one body among His peers, henceforth the whole conspiracy of the enemy against mankind is checked, and the corruption of death which before was prevailing against them is done away. For the race of men had gone to ruin, had not the Lord and Saviour of all, the Son of God, come among us to meet the end of death.” (Athanasius’ On the Incarnation of the Word, Section 9 Verse 4; cf. 1 Cor. 15:21-26)

In reference to the Jews’ rejection of Jesus as the Messiah and their interpretation of the seventy weeks of Daniel 9, Athanasius has this to say:

“Perhaps with regard to the other (prophecies) they may be able even to find excuses and to put off what is written to a future time. But what can they say to this, or can they face it at all? Where not only is the Christ referred to, but He that is to be anointed is declared to be not man simply, but Holy of Holies; and Jerusalem is to stand till His coming, and thenceforth, prophet and vision cease in Israel.” (Athanasius’ On the Incarnation of the Word, Section 39 Verse 3; cf. Dan. 9:24ff)

“For when He that was signified was come, what need was there any longer of any to signify Him? When the truth was there, what need any more of the shadow? For this was the reason of their prophesying at all – namely, till the true Righteousness should come, and He that was to ransom the sins of all. And this was why Jerusalem stood till then – namely, that there they might be exercised in the types as a preparation for the reality. ...the Saviour also Himself cried aloud and said: ‘The law and the prophets prophesied until John.’ If then there is now among the Jews king or prophet or vision, they do well to deny the Christ that is come. But if there is neither king nor vision, but from that time forth all prophecy is sealed and the city and temple taken, why are they so irreligious and so perverse as to see what has happened, and yet to deny Christ, Who has brought it all to pass? ...What then has not come to pass, that the Christ must do? What is left unfulfilled, that the Jews should now disbelieve with impunity?” (Athanasius’ On the Incarnation of the Word, Section 40 Verses 1-8)

“Now, however, that the devil, that tyrant against the whole world, is slain, we do not approach a temporal feast, my beloved, but an eternal and heavenly. Not in shadows do we shew it forth, but we come to it in truth. For [the Jews] being filled with the flesh of a dumb lamb, accomplished the feast, and having anointed their door-posts with the blood, implored aid against the destroyer. But now we, eating of the Word of the Father, and having the lintels of our hearts sealed with the blood of the New Testament, acknowledge the grace given us from the Saviour, who said, ‘Behold, I have given unto you to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy.’ For no more does death reign; but instead of death henceforth is life, since our Lord said, ‘I am the life;’ so that everything is filled with joy and gladness; as it is written, ‘The Lord reigneth, let the earth rejoice.’ ...And God is no longer known only in Judea, but in all the earth, ‘their voice hath gone forth, and the knowledge of Him hath filled all the earth.’ ...in accordance with the injunction of the Apostles, let us go beyond the types, and sing the new song of praise. ...For no longer were these things to be done which belonged to Jerusalem which is beneath; neither there alone was the feast to be celebrated, but wherever God willed it to be. ...when the things pertaining to that time were fulfilled, and those which belonged to shadows had passed away, and the preaching of the Gospel was about to extend everywhere; when indeed the disciples were spreading the feast in all places, they asked the Saviour, ‘Where wilt Thou that we shall make ready?’ The Saviour also, since He was changing the typical for the spiritual, promised them that they should no longer eat the flesh of a lamb, but His own, saying, ‘Take, eat and drink; this is My body, and My blood.’ When we are thus nourished by these things, we also, my beloved, shall truly keep the feast of the

“For He raised up the falling, healed the sick, satisfied those who were hungry, and filled the poor, and, what is more wonderful, raised us all from the dead; having abolished death, He has brought us from affliction and sighing to the rest and gladness of this feast, a joy which reacheth even to heaven. ...how must all its hosts joy and exult, as they ... look on sinners while they repent ... and finally on the enemy who lies weakened, lifeless, bound hand and foot, so that we may mock at him; ‘Where is thy victory, O Death? where is thy sting, O Grave?’ Let us then sing unto the Lord a song of victory. ...the Lord gives to them at the right hand, saying, ‘Come, ye blessed, inherit the kingdom prepared for you.’ ...Wherefore let us not celebrate the feast after an earthly manner, but as keeping festival in heaven with the angels.” (Athanasius’ The Festal Letters, Letter VI.
